STEP 1
Review the work before filling the calendar
Check the service location, expected task, assigned person, and any access requirements. Confirm that the information needed for the visit is available. Identify jobs that depend on a customer response, equipment, or completion of an earlier task.
STEP 2
Leave room for the real day
Consider travel, preparation, and time to document the work when planning the day. Avoid treating every job as identical. Discuss uncertain durations with the team and leave a practical way to handle changes rather than promising an exact finish time you cannot support.
STEP 3
Make changes visible
When a job moves, update the schedule and tell the affected people. Confirm who will contact the customer. Keep the latest decision in a place the office and field team can find, instead of relying on a message that only one person has seen.
STEP 4
Finish with a short handoff
At the end of the day, review completed work, unfinished tasks, and tomorrow’s priorities. Give each follow-up an owner and a clear next step. Check that the next person has the customer details and project context needed to continue without starting over.
